Talberia Lake in Bankura

Talberia lake is one of the oldest lakes in the Bankura district. The erosion of a river bed formed it. The talberia dam was built at this place to provide water to people living in this area, especially during the dry season.


Tara is a small village in Bankura, west Bengal, India. It is located on the Bankura-Jhargram Highway about 10 km from the district headquarters of Bankura. The name "Tara" is derived from the Sanskrit word "Taruna", which means "the lord".
